 Instructors
Northwest Martial Arts has four highly qualified head instructors. Each instructor has over 20 years of training in his chosen specialty. NWMA instructors strongly believe in the value of their programs and the benefits of the unique cross-training curriculum embraced at Northwest Martial Arts. They are dedicated to their students and to maintaining the high standards of their respective arts.
Tom Doyle
Tom Doyle holds a 4th degree black belt in Jujutsu and a 2nd degree black belt in Yamate Ryu Aikijutsu. Mr. Doyle has studied various arts since 1974 and, in addition to Aikijutsu and Jujutsu, he has studied Budokan Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan Karate, and numerous styles of both hard and soft Aikido. He continues the study and instruction of Yamate Ryu Aikijutsu under the guidance of Nicholas Busan Sensei, Kancho - San Diego Budokai.
Andrew Hackett
Andrew Hackett holds a 6th degree black belt in Senka Ryu Jujutsu. He has studied martial arts since the age of 4. He has previously studied Iaido and Kendo, and he now actively pursues Aikido, Aikijutsu and Karate.

Craig Krohn
Craig Krohn holds a 3rd degree black belt in Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, a 1st degree black belt in Kei Shin Kan Karate, and a shoden in Ki Development. Mr. Krohn has been training in various arts since 1988, including Nanchuan Kung Fu, Chito Ryu Tsuroka Karate, Jujutsu and Iaido. In 1993, he began training with the Ki-Aikido Chief Instructor of the United States, Koichi Kashiwaya Sensei, and continues to train with Kashiwaya Sensei to this day. He was awarded Grand Champion at the 1999 National Taigi Competition.

Brent Yamamoto
Brent Yamamoto holds a 3rd degree black belt in Kei Shin Kan Karate, and a 1st degree black belt in both Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido and Senka Ryu Jujutsu. Mr. Yamamoto began training in Kei Shin Kan at the age of 9, and he has since studied, taught, and successfully competed in both the United States and Japan. In addition to Aikido and Kei Shin Kan Karate, he actively trains in Jujutsu, Goju-Ryu Karate and various weapon disciplines. He is CPR and First Aid certified. Mr. Yamamoto believes that, although physical and technical preparation is essential to the martial arts, the most important aspect is the development of a determined and unyielding spirit.
